Playoffs Coming....

With playoffs approaching Lebron James has been able to take a rest for the remaining games of the season. It is well needed for his performance that he has displayed this season. Him, Wade and Chamlers have been told to rest so they can get ready for the playoffs. Now do you agree with this? Some people argue that the three should still play or get a fine. Last year The Spurs rested the starting line up and were fined for not playing their players. The Heat have yet to be fined so what will this stir up? The NBA are all for the Miami Heat? I don't believe so. But what more do they really need to play for? They are number one in the East with the best record in the league. They almost were able to pull of the NBA record for most consecutive wins in a season but lost to the very hungry Chicago Bulls settling for 2nd most consecutive wins with 27. Lebron and the Heat are ready for playoffs and could easily come up with the Championship once again if they continue to play hard and bust some ass on that court. Playoffs is a whole different atmosphere compared to the season. Lets see how Lebron will do this coming playoffs.

Lebron James Not The MVP?

Unfathomable.Illogical. Senseless. Dare I say blasphemous to the gods of basketball?

Lebron James has been nothing short of extraordinary this past week spanning games between March 15th to March 21st. With averages of 28 PPG, 10.3 RPG and 9.3 APG, he is virtually an automatic triple double machine. The crazier part of this stat-line? These numbers aren't far off of what he's been getting all season.  He has averaged:
  • PPG:26.6
  • RPG:8.2
  • APG:7.3

Earlier on in the season, and even up to a few weeks ago, it seemed like Kevin Durant and Tony Parker were challenging for the most prestigious individual award of the regular season. With both players' respective teams having more wins than Miami, and having MVP type statistics, the argument was definitely legitimate. But with Miami now owning the best record in the league at 53-14 (2.5 ahead of the next best Spurs), the better team argument can't affect Lebron's chances.

Oh, and the Heat are also riding out a 24 game winning streak. No big deal.

The best record, the second longest winning streak in NBA history (and still counting, going for 25 tonight against the Detroit Pistons 7PM ET), paired with Lebron's otherworldly talents, leave very little room for someone to say he doesn't deserve the MVP, and say it with a straight face. Unless he plays terribly for the next 4 weeks, Lebron will be adding another to his already sizable collection.

Who Really Is The King? LeBron vs. Durant

By: Doris. I

Ever since Lebron James has entered the league he has been hailed as the future of the NBA. After winning back to back NBA MVP's and continuing to put up stellar numbers is there any reason to doubt that he is the best player in the league?

Kobe Bryant has aged a lot and though he is frequently compared to LeBron the only person you can argue is truly on the same level as LeBron is KD, Kevin "the Durantula" Durant.

*Look at this earlier post by Chris on Kobe Vs. Lebron here:
http://lbjtheking.blogspot.ca/2013/02/normal-0-false-false-false-en-us-ja-x.html

He has lead the NBA in scoring the past 3 seasons and his young Oklahoma City team is favoured to match up in the NBA finals and face the Heat in an epic rematch of last years final.

KD is a match up problem on every level standing 6'10 with a 7'6 wingspan(no that was not a typo) and the ability to shoot from anywhere and the ball handling skills of a point guard.

Even the king is unable to guard this rising superstar 1 on 1. With Durant being quite a bit younger than Lebron (only 24, Lebron is 28), his potential is limitless and he will dominate the NBA for years to come.

Many people argue who is better between the two and a lot of controversy was started when the media found out they worked out together during the summer. Would you train with your number one rival and help them get better???

We will see whose hard work pays off more as the playoffs are right around the corner. As for who is better in my eyes… Too hard to say.
I will say this, I would not want to match up with either of them on any court in the near future...

Lebron James wanted for murder...

Lebron is currently wanted for the death of Boston Celtics player Jason Terry. Jason was last seen trying to block a Lebron James dunk attempt. The play took place during the Miami heats victory over the Boston celtics. What possessed Jason terry to jump with a freight train like Lebron beats me... Though he isn't the first one to try to stop the King. Damon Jones was "baptized " by Lebron back when he played for Cleveland. Tim Duncan received a poster that will be remembered as the statue of liberty dunk, and John Lucas was literally jumped over by Lebron. Why these people decide to get in the way of the 6'8 250 pound monster beats me. But if you don't want to end up on the wrong side of a poster you better stay out of his path.

Down 27 Heat Lo...Won?!

Mr. James. Where do I start good lord. Down 27 pts in the 3rd quarter? 27??? But come back to win the game? I must say yesterdays performance by Lebron and the Heat in the second half was a impressive one. Has to be one of the greatest comebacks we have witnessed all season by far. If you didn't watch the game last night, Miami was done 27 points to Lebrons former team the Cavs and a lot (if not everyone) thought Heat blew their 23 game winning streak. Like come on, if you tuned in in the beginning of the 3rd quarter and saw that score you would think the same too. The first half was a very disturbing one but it was clear Miami wasn't playing the defence they're known to play. Cavs were shooting well and Heat could not get it going. That second half thooooouuugghhhhh!?!? Was enough for a Lebron hater to silence his mouth for the night. Lebron ended up with a triple double scoring 25pts, 12 rebounds, and 10 assist his 4th triple double of the season. The Heat are just 9 games away from the L.A Lakers of making history with the longest winning streak. Will they be able to pull it off?
WE WILL SEE.

21 wins in a row?

Well then. It has been quite a few interesting games this past month. Lakers are somewhat winning, Toronto just hasn't been serious about that 8th seed and then theres Lebrons Miami Heat. Lord have mercy. 20 straight wins Miami have been able to accomplish. Close games occurred but Heat still pull the W. Is this playoff preview of the Miami Heat team because if so there is going to be a problem for sure on the Eastern Conference. Miami Heat could possibly be heading to making history for all time wins in a season. The record champions are currently the 1971-72 season by the Los Angeles Lakers so is it possible Miami Heat could possibly fall to a underdog team or a champion type team? In the past 20 games of their streak Lebron has averaged 26 ppg 7.45apg 7.65rpg which is really good numbers  nearly averaging a triple double. His involvement of getting his teammates into the game has improved again and again. This could be one of Lebrons best years if he continues to dominant on the court. Of course he has Wade and Bosh for help but one man can not win a championship. You all have seen Lebron play. It isn't a mystery to why his team has been so successful. So lets see how it goes against Milwaukee Bucks today as they are on the road to possibly go for win number 21.

The Mamba vs. The King

The Mamba vs. The King

By Chris Muir

  • Now we have heard these discussions over and over again. Time after time we hear how spectacular their performances are.
  • The dunks, the crossovers, the nasty crowd racking blocks, those game winners we have all been able to witness them live (from our T.V. of course) but the question remains who is the better player up to date?
  •  Now if you haven’t heard Michael Jordan’s recent comments towards the two players let me inform you that though it was a difficult decision in his eyes he let everyone, “in term of dominance of the game of basketball at this stage is LeBron, championship wise Kobe Bryant” also he let the public know “5 beats 1” meaning 5 championships beats 1 which is pretty clear.
  • Here is the link to Jordan comments about Lebron and Kobe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktBlaOhw3cQ
  • Going through LeBron’s career coming out of high school and still being the active and dominant player till this day is quite amazing in our eyes.
  • The criticism that he has gone through most players would crumple and hide into a hole of a slow return or even none at all.
  • For example, Sebastian Telfair (who?) yea he came out of high school in the 2004 draft with a huge hype about him to become one of the greatest point guards to enter the NBA. Yea he crumpled horribly after 2 seasons with the Trailblazers.
  • Some people can’t live up to the hype but LeBron James has and continues to impress the NBA legends.
  • Kobe vs. LeBron one on one you have to really look at both of their games. Kobe can score at will with his clutch game winners and defense to stop his opponents. LeBron has been able to takeover the game and not be stopped by anyone who defends him.
  • I mean he is 6’8 weighing 270 pounds. The fact that he isn’t done and has practically achieved his goals of perfecting his game mentally and physically on the court, sorry Kobe but LeBron James is taking this one.
